Privacy policy

Smart Receipt keeps your receipts so you can see where your money goes. This policy explains what it stores, who else sees it and how to remove it. Smart Receipt is run by Kleid Hoxha, who is responsible for your data. Questions go to support@bykleid.com.
What is stored
- Your username and a scrambled form of your password (an scrypt hash). The password itself is never stored.
- Photos of the receipts you scan or upload, and what is read from them: shop, address, date, items, VAT, total and payment details such as the card's last four digits.
- Notes, tags and corrections you add.
- Whether and when you allowed AI reading.
Smart Receipt has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your data is never sold.
Who processes it
- Hostinger hosts the app and its database, where everything above is kept.
- Anthropic reads your receipt photos with its Claude AI, only if you allow AI reading. Each photo is sent when you scan it, and the details come back to Smart Receipt. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API isn't used to train its models and is kept only for a limited time to run and protect the service. Anthropic processes data in the United States, under the safeguards in its data processing terms.
Why
- To provide the service you signed up for: your account and your receipts.
- With your consent: sending photos to Anthropic for AI reading. You can withdraw it at any time in Account → AI reading.
- To keep the service secure: repeated failed logins are counted per IP address, in memory, for up to one hour.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you logged in for 30 days. It is needed for the app to work and holds no tracking data. The iPhone app keeps the same login in your device's Keychain instead.
How long it is kept
Until you delete it. Deleting a receipt removes it and its photo at once. Deleting your account in Account → Delete account removes the account and every receipt, photo, note and tag in it at once. Copies in the hosting provider's backups expire as those backups are replaced.
Your rights
- See and take your data: export any month as CSV or JSON from Insights.
- Correct it: tap any field on a receipt.
- Delete it: delete receipts one by one, or your whole account.
- Withdraw consent for AI reading in Account.
- Ask questions or object at support@bykleid.com. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Smart Receipt isn't meant for children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Important changes are shown in the app before they apply.
